New Perseus Android malware targets user notes to steal sensitive data
Researchers have uncovered Perseus, a new Android banking malware that hides within streaming apps to spy on users' personal notes and steal sensitive data. Unlike typical malware, Perseus specifically monitors note-taking applications to extract secrets including passwords and recovery phrases. It represents an evolution of earlier malware families Cerberus and Phoenix, offering enhanced capabilities for device takeover and financial fraud through dropper apps actively distributed in the wild.
